READY, SET, GO!

So, practically the whole world is on lockdown as a result of the Coronavirus. It looks like most schools are trying to make the best of a terrible situation by implementing remote learning, which has been difficult for students and teachers. It's all too easy to take your foot off the gas and just coast through the rest of the school year. DON'T DO IT! Don't look at this as a setback. Look at it as an opportunity. Use your time wisely and take advantage of your free time. If you're a junior in high school, now is the time to prepare for the next SAT test (which is tentatively still on track for June). If you don't know where to start, the Khan Academy is a great place to begin, and it's free! Now is the time to get moving on your college applications. If you don't know where you want to apply, start researching schools now. Make a list. Keep open minded regarding schools and go BIG! Open your Common Application account if you haven't already and get moving. Don't wait! Here's the link: https://www.commonapp.org/ The earlier you start on this process, the less stress you will experience next semester. The free time you have now is a gift. Use it! To those of you in other grades, keep up with your schoolwork. It may feel like school is over for the year, but it's NOT. Most schools are moving along, business as usual, except now it's remote. If you get lazy and fall behind, your grades will suffer and that MATTERS. So, make a daily schedule and follow it. Put your schoolwork/homework first. Save the internet surfing and games for later. PRIORITIZE! You'll thank yourself later, I promise. Best of luck to all you and I'll see you again on the other side.
